There are several types of diseases occurs to dogs due to many reasons but among all hyperkeratosis is one of the common disease occurred in dogs. Many people would think what type of diseases is hyperkeratosis? It is nothing but a common disease infected to dogs; it is also called as hairy dog feet. When dogs affected with this disease, they would have hairy feet and thick nose. When dogs have abnormal hairs in paws and feet, it would cause more pain to them and make them suffer a lot. When it comes to hyperkeratosis it is a common disease which attacks dogs and cats, it makes the dog’s paws and nose skin thick and harden. How hyperkeratosis infected dogs are treated?
Hyperkeratosis disease is of two types that is nasal hyperkeratosis this affects nose and muscle area of dog and foot pad hyperkeratosis this affects foot of dogs. This is a common skin condition occurs to any breed dogs, but most commonly dogs of breeds such as Labradors, dogues de Bordeaux, Iris Terriers, Golden Retrievers and Bedlington Terriers are affected. Many people would search how this disease gets infected to dogs and what would be the result of it? The hyperkeratosis is infected to dog breeds through genes; this disease occurs when a dog is under 1 year. On another hand when dogs with thick and harden skin condition it not only indicates that your pet is affected with hyperkeratosis. But also same skin conditions remain as symptoms for other diseases also which are listed below along with their vaccination.
- Canine Distemper: this disease is often infecting puppies, but it can cure by giving vaccines to puppies; thus these diseases are rarely found now.
- Leishmaniasis: this disease is caused by parasite sand flies would often carry this parasite illness due to this can be controlled by using the medicine.
- Pemphigus Foliaceus: this disease is an autoimmune skin disease which is diagnosed along with a biopsy, and it is treated with immune suppressive drugs.
- Zinc-responsive Dermatosis: this type of skin disease in dogs if they are not absorbing zinc in a proper way. This skin condition is only treated by using zinc supplements to dogs.
Thus all the above diseases have the same skin condition as hyperkeratosis dog nose and paws. This skin condition mainly occurs when the keratin level is high or when fibrous protein is produced in the outer layer of the skin. All these make the skin harden and thicken in the nose and paws.
