Typically my family portrait sessions are divided into two parts: I get some great group shots that will look great over the fireplace, and then we go play and get some candid moments of family members interacting. How "formal" the images look is entirely up to you. If you're at the beach, a breezy, casual look might best represent you, as with this family.
Digital cameras just can't look like this, no matter how many Photoshop effects you plaster on. Film is gorgeous!

Kids get bored easily, which is why it's important to let them play. And of course, it's important that I capture it.
