Sunday Morning, Oxnard Beach

Drenched! And another wave is coming in fast…

[click "continue reading" below for more…]I’ve known this family for quite some time, but this is the first time I’ve had the opportunity to take pictures of them with their youngest son. We had a great, relaxed time at the beach! The kids were so well behaved, I think we were there at least two hours. We finally had to stop when I ran out of storage cards for my camera: a first! Lots of great images, and I hardly know where to begin.

Well Ok, I’ll begin with this one. :)

Two brothers…

Their five year old is such a ham! Apparently he’s been taking modeling lessons, unbeknownst to his parents. Because in a break between shots, he suddenly started ‘voguing’ as if he were a highly-paid fashion model. And of course the fact that the adults were all rolling with laughter just kept him going.

As for the first shot, well we headed down to the water, and water and kids mix very well. (Thankfully kids don’t dissolve in water.) A rogue wave soaked the older son, not to mention me! Fortunately I had just put all my data cards in their little plastic cases, and they survived unscathed. Phew. My car seats were a little damp after the ride home though.

Shot in Oxnard, Ventura County, California. This is my favorite “dunes” location for family and children’s beach portraits.
